Gu-Shaped Vase

Seifū Yohei III

Cleveland Museum of Art

The Gu-Shaped Vase by Seifū Yohei III is a tall, white ceramic vase with a flared mouth and a flared base. The vase has a bulbous middle section with a geometric pattern etched into it. The geometric pattern consists of interlocking lines that form a maze-like design. Above and below the bulbous section, there are additional etched patterns. The background of the image is a gradient that transitions from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
