Armchair

Pottier and Stymus Manufacturing Company

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The armchair has a high back with a flat top and rounded corners. The frame is made of medium-toned wood with ornate carvings on the legs, frame and arms. The seat and arm cushions are upholstered in blue velvet. A decorative gold fabric panel with a crest or coat of arms design covers the back, and a matching fabric with a floral pattern and tassels trims the seat. The chair's arms are wide and flat with carved details. The background of the image is a gradient gray color.
