Covered Vegetable Dish

Union Porcelain Works

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

White porcelain covered dish with a rounded rectangular body. Handles on both sides, one on the right side larger than the other; both handles are decorated to resemble a twisted rope. The lid has a similar twisted rope handle on top. The entire dish is decorated with gold lines forming a crisscross pattern on the body and intersecting circles on the lid; the crisscross pattern on the body resembles a lattice or a fishnet. The dish has decorative floral motifs in green, blue, and gold on the lid and body. The base of the dish is flat with a gold line encircling it. The background of the image is gray.
