Drop-leaf Dining Table

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Drop-leaf Dining Table by Gillows. The table is a semi-oval shape with a flat, smooth surface and a slightly rounded edge. The tabletop is made of wood and features three long, narrow panels running lengthwise. A leaf on the far side is folded down. The table has a skirt around the bottom with two drawers on the near side. There are four tapered legs, each with a metal cap on the bottom and a yellow inlay about halfway down. Near the drawer on the right side is an oval-shaped yellow design; a similar design is on the left side. The background is a plain gray color.
