Girandole

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Girandole by Francesco Rizzo, a circular mirror frame made of silver, features a large central opening. The frame is adorned with ornate details, including a bird perched atop a column at the top center. Two cherubs are positioned on either side of the frame, each holding an object. The frame's design includes intricate scrollwork and a decorative element resembling a teardrop shape hanging from the bottom. A thin wire extends from the top of the frame, presumably for hanging. The background of the image is white.
