Pier table

Charles-Honoré Lannuier

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Rectangular table with white marble top, dark brown wood base, and gold accents. The base has a curved front and straight back. Four legs are present, two at the front and two at the back, with the front legs being more ornate. The front legs are adorned with gold female figures holding up decorative elements. The gold female figures are standing on the outside of the front legs, with their arms raised above their heads. The female figures are wearing long, flowing garments. Above each female figure, on top of the table base, is a small gold figure of a person. The table base has a gold design in the center of the front side. The gold design appears to be a floral motif. The table base also features a row of gold circular designs along the bottom front side. The legs have gold animal-shaped feet. The background of the image is gray. The table is by Charles-Honoré Lannuier.
