Halberd of Prince Karl I of Liechtenstein (1569–1627)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Halberd of Prince Karl I of Liechtenstein, created by an unknown artist. The halberd features a long, narrow, pointed metal blade. Two curved axe-like blades protrude from the base of the main blade on either side. The metal is intricately engraved with a pattern resembling leaves or feathers. A red tassel and woven red fabric are wrapped around the bottom of the blade where it meets the wooden pole. The wooden pole is not visible in the image except for a small section at the bottom. Two other weapon heads are partially visible on either side. The background is a white wall with a light blue section at the top.
