Pair of Tassets of Emperor Charles V of Austria (1500–1558)
Metal tassets, likely steel, with a silver-gray color, featuring gold accents and etched designs. Two tassets are shown side by side. Each has a curved shape. The front of each tasset features a black and gray etched image of a lion-like creature facing right; the creature appears to have the tail of a lion and the head and claws of an eagle. A gold-colored plant design is on the bottom. The border around each tasset has two rows of rivets and two strips of gold. Latches are at the top. The background is gray.
