Shaffron (Horse's Head Defense) of Ottheinrich, Count Palatine of the Rhine (1502–1559)
A silver-colored metal piece of armor with a central vertical ridge and two curved protrusions on either side. The armor has a distinctive shape with a narrower top and bottom, and wider middle section. Two short, cylindrical pieces of metal protrude from the top. The piece has curved cutouts on either side, near the middle. Small brass rivets line the edges and holes of the piece. The surface features decorative etchings, including a central elongated, pointed shape, and a twisted rope-like pattern. The background is a light gray color.
