Forearm Defense (Vambrace)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Forearm Defense (Vambrace) by an unknown artist is a metallic grey armor piece. The object is long and cylindrical with tapered ends, resembling a tube that is open on one side. It is positioned diagonally with the top-right end pointing down and to the right. The surface appears scratched, dented, and worn with small black and dark grey spots all over. The piece is secured with two metal fasteners on either side; each fastener consists of interlocking pieces connected by a short chain. The fasteners are positioned symmetrically on either side of the piece, towards the edges. The background is plain light grey.
