Sword Guard (<i>Tsuba</i>) Depicting Hanshan and Shide (寒山拾得図鐔)

A bronze-colored, square-shaped metal object with rounded corners and a gold border. The object has two oval-shaped holes cut out of its center. The object depicts two men. The man on the left has a long beard and wears a robe with a white sash. He is crouched down, facing left and holding a branch. The man on the right wears a brown robe and holds a blue cloth or sword. He stands behind the other man, facing forward. The background of the object is bronze-colored with darker edges. A small branch is engraved at the bottom right.
