The burgonet for the Guard of the Counts Khevenhüller zu Aichelberg, by Hans Stoss, is a steel helmet. The helmet faces right. The bowl is shaped to fit the head, extending to a point at the back. A large, curved brim extends from the forehead to the back. The brim is flat and wide and has a decorative edge. A nasal guard extends down from the forehead. The guard consists of a curved bar and two, flared projections on either side. The surface is decorated with etched feathers and a crest. The helmet is fastened with rivets and rosettes. The surface shows dark and light grey tones with some discoloration.
