Boar Spear

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a boar spear titled "Boar Spear" by an unknown artist. The spearhead is long and narrow with a pointed tip. The metal spearhead is silver-colored with engravings on both sides. The engravings resemble wavy lines and abstract shapes. A long, thin groove runs down the center of the spearhead. The base of the spearhead is attached to a wooden handle. The handle has a dark brown color with a reddish tint. Black leather straps are wrapped around the handle in an "X" pattern, secured with metal rivets. A metal mechanism, possibly a trigger or release, is attached to the side of the spearhead near the handle. The background of the image is a plain light gray color.
