The Shield by artist Peter Carl Fabergé is an intricately designed, round metal object. The shield is silver with a circular rim featuring small round rivets spaced evenly apart. The face of the shield has a central circular area with radiating lines extending outwards. These lines divide the shield into sections, each containing intricate etchings and patterns. The etchings are primarily silver and darker areas suggesting shading or added details. The outer edge of the shield also features an etched design. The background of the image is plain white.
