Rapier

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The rapier by has a metal hilt with a twisted rope-like design on the guard and quillon. The guard is cup-shaped, curved on one side and straight on the other, with the straight side extending outwards, forming a quillon. The grip is covered with a textured material, possibly metal mesh. The pommel is square-shaped with a small ball on top, featuring a leaf-like pattern. The blade is long and slender with an engraved design along its length.
