Rapier

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Rapier has a long, slender blade with a slight tapering towards the tip. A diamond-shaped crossguard features two curved quillons that extend outward and then curve back towards the blade. The hilt is intricately decorated. A spherical pommel sits at the top of the grip.
