The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dark brown, oval-shaped metal object with rounded edges. A large oval-shaped hole on the left side and a triangular hole in the center. A design on the bottom right features a building with a pagoda-style roof and a long, thin structure extending from it. Small yellow birds are scattered throughout, with a group of 13 birds flying in a V-formation above the building. The object has a weathered appearance with visible signs of aging and wear. The artist is unknown but the object is referred to as a Sword Guard or Tsuba.
