Elephant Bell with Miniature Elephant

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Elephant Bell with Miniature Elephant by Unknown. The object is a bronze bell with a green patina. The top of the bell is shaped like an upside-down funnel with a textured surface resembling woven material. The funnel's edges are uneven. The bell's body is cylindrical and flares out slightly at the bottom. The top and body are joined by a short, narrow section with a rope-like design around it. A small, solid elephant protrudes from the side, near the top. The background is gray, with a shadow cast to the left.
