Candlestick (one of a pair)
The candlestick, one of a pair, by Unknown Artist, shows a gilt, enameled and parcel-gilt bronze object. The base of the candlestick is a flat dish on three small feet with a design of concentric circles and petals in shades of blue, green, red, and yellow. A long stem rises vertically from the center and then bends to form the neck of a bird with a long beak. The body of the bird is covered in small white scales. The stem continues vertically from the bird's tail to form a tall, thin spike topped with a circular candleholder with three prongs on the inside.
