The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The object is an incense burner with a cover. The incense burner has a rounded body and a domed lid. The body and lid are made of a light-colored stone or material, possibly jade. The exterior of the body and lid are carved to resemble coral, with many small, irregularly shaped protrusions. A wide rim encircles the body, with a small lip around the top of the lid. The base of the incense burner is circular and made of dark-colored metal. Two protrusions on either side of the body resemble coral. A number is written on the front of the body. The background of the image is light-colored.
