Incense burner with cover

Incense burner with cover, China. Gray ceramic vessel with a wide rounded body, approximately half sphere shaped, with a flat base. Two handles on either side, ornately carved. Each handle comprising a stylized flower on top and curved scrollwork below. Exterior surface featuring a repeating geometric pattern resembling scales. Top of vessel covered by a domed metal cover with a latticework pattern. Latticework composed of interlocking curved lines. A number is printed on the front of the vessel's body. A small white label on the bottom right reads "THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM". A small white scale is on the bottom left. Image is in black and white.
