Natural Rock Bridge

Lu Zhi

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Vertical, rectangular painting on a beige background. A river runs through the center. On either side of the river are cliffs. A rock bridge crosses the river. The cliffs are gray with hints of brown. Green vegetation grows on the cliffs. The foreground includes a low, jagged cliff on the right that juts into the river. A large, tall cliff on the left has a top that appears to have been eroded into a series of pillars. In the far distance on the right is a tall, oval-shaped rock formation with a flat top. Two columns of Asian text are on the right. Four red seals are on the corners. The painting is bordered by a thick beige mat.
