Large Storage Jar (Ōtsubo)
Large Storage Jar (Ōtsubo) by Bernard Leach. The jar has a wide body that tapers in at the bottom and has a short neck with a small opening at the top. The jar is primarily brown with darker brown streaks running down the lower part. The upper part has lighter brown and beige tones with some white speckles. The background of the image is a gradient from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom. The jar casts a shadow on the surface below it. The jar appears to be made of clay and has a rough texture. The surface of the jar is uneven. The jar is symmetrical. The overall shape of the jar is bulbous.
