Meiping vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Meiping vase, by artist unknown, is a ceramic vase with a narrow, short neck and a rounded body that tapers outwards at the bottom. The vase has a glossy, reddish-brown glaze with lighter brown speckles. The base of the vase is circular and flat with a light-brown rim. The background of the image is a plain light grey color. The vase casts a circular shadow on the surface below it. The image shows the vase from a front-facing perspective. The vase resembles a traditional Chinese Meiping vase.
