Amphora with dragon-shaped handles

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Amphora with dragon-shaped handles by Unknown is a black and white photograph of a vase. The vase has a wide body that tapers to a narrow neck. The body of the vase is bulbous with a rounded shoulder. The lower half of the vase has streaks of dark color. The handles are attached to the sides of the neck and are shaped like dragons. The handles curve outward and then inward, forming a loop. The dragons' heads are at the top of the handles, facing outwards. The background is a gradient from dark at the top to light at the bottom. The vase casts a shadow on the surface below it.
