The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image depicts a traditional Japanese woodblock print. The scene shows two men sitting on a patterned mat on the floor. The man on the left sits with his legs crossed and holds an object in his hands; he has dark hair and wears a brown robe over a blue garment. The man on the right sits behind the first man with his legs tucked under him; he has white hair and wears a black robe. He holds a sword with a long black handle and a brown wrapped hilt. A box and a pot are positioned to the left. In the background on the left, a warrior on horseback wearing armor and holding a sword charges from a wave; a tree branch is overhead. The scene is bordered by a curved line with a red patterned edge. Japanese text is printed vertically along the right edge and in a circle at the top right. The artwork is titled "Print by Utagawa Kunisada".
