The Netsuke of Thirteen Masks by artist unknown, is a small, cube-shaped object made of light-colored material, possibly ivory. The object has 13 faces carved on it, arranged in three layers. The top layer has four faces, two facing forward and two on the sides. The middle layer has four faces with one facing forward and the rest on the sides. The bottom layer has five faces with one in the front and the rest on the sides. The faces are various expressions, including one open-mouthed face with sharp teeth; another with a long nose; a third with bulging eyes; and others. The faces feature carved eyebrows, noses, and mouths. The background of the image is a plain gray color.
