Vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Black and white photo of a broken vase by artist Kuo Ping. The vase has a wide, rounded body with a narrow base and a wide mouth. Two small handles protrude from either side near the top. The vase is covered in a glossy glaze with a dark color at the top that fades to light. The lower portion of the vase features a geometric pattern of triangles. The vase is cracked vertically down the center and there are several large chips around the mouth and handles. Two small pieces of the vase are lying on the surface to the right. The background is plain white.
