Page from the Ten Bamboo Studio Manual of Painting and Calligraphy by Hu Zhengyan: A black and white ink painting on beige paper of an abstract shape resembling a rock formation. The shape is mostly gray and black with white areas. The shape has holes and irregular edges. The background of the paper is beige with darker spots and stains. There are two small red stamps on the right side of the painting. The stamp on top appears to have four Chinese characters in it. The bottom stamp is partially obscured. The paper appears to have a vertical fold down the middle. The image is surrounded by a thick white border.
