Skirt

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a black and white photograph of a skirt by artist Unidentified Artist. The skirt is shown hanging on a wall, waistband at the top, with the bottom hem slightly curved upward. The waistband is solid and smooth, approximately 2 inches deep. The skirt itself is pleated and features a floral patterned fabric with a mix of dark and light colors. Vertical strips of solid dark fabric are on either side of the skirt, and there are two more strips down the center, one on either side of a central panel. The central panel has a more subdued pattern than the rest of the skirt. The skirt appears to be made of a shiny material, possibly silk or satin. The background of the image is a plain wall with a rough texture. A small label on the bottom right reads "THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART 1930". Numbers in the bottom-left corner read "78731/30.75.94".
