Pair of Manuscript Covers

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Two long, narrow, rectangular covers, likely made of paper or fabric, with a red background and gold-colored images of Buddha. The covers are placed horizontally, one above the other, on a gray background. Each cover features a repeating pattern of Buddha in various seated positions, with 16 visible Buddhas on the top cover and 15 on the bottom. A thin, orange string or thread connects the two covers in the middle. The covers appear to be manuscript covers, with the title "Pair of Manuscript Covers" and the artist not visually identifiable in the image.
