Breeches

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Light beige or off-white breeches by an unidentified artist, made from a lightweight fabric, possibly linen or cotton, with a subtle texture visible. The garment features a high waistline with a row of small buttons and buttonholes along the top edge. A small pocket is positioned on either side of the front. The legs are straight and taper slightly towards the bottom, where they are fastened with small metal buttons and buttonholes. The background is a solid gray color.
