Breeches

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Beige pants, Breeches by artist unknown. The pants are made of a light beige fabric, likely cotton or linen, and have a straight-leg cut. They feature a high waistline with a wide waistband that appears to be made of a slightly darker beige material. The waistband has a small label with black writing. The pants have two front pockets, one on each side, and a row of six small metal buttons down the center. The legs are straight and taper slightly at the bottom. There are seven small loops and ties on the bottom of each pant leg. The pants are stained and show signs of wear. The background is a plain gray color.
