Earrings

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Gold earrings, titled "Earrings" by an unknown artist, feature a gold-colored metal design. The earrings are shaped like a teardrop with the pointed end facing upwards. They have a long, thin piece of metal extending from the top, with two curved pieces on either side that resemble a scroll or a swirl. There is a circular cutout in the center of each earring, containing a design of three smaller swirls. Below the cutout are two more curved pieces that resemble scrolls. A small loop is at the bottom of each earring, from which a small gold ball dangles. The earrings are set against a white background.
