Pantaloons

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

White pants made from a thick fabric, likely cotton or canvas. The pants have a straight leg cut and are fastened at the waist with metal buttons and metal eyelets. There are no visible pockets on the thighs but have small stitch marks on the upper thighs where the pockets may have been removed or never present. The pants have a fly opening with a button fastening at the top. The waistband has six metal eyelets on either side. The pants are slightly stained and have tiny darker spots and faint creases. The background is a solid gray color. The pants are titled "Pantaloons" by the artist.
