The horse is rearing up on its hind legs. The man wears a hat, a coat, and pants. The man on horseback appears to be riding over or near several people on the ground. There are also several other people on the medal, some of whom appear to be fighting or fleeing. The background of the medal features a cloud of smoke. The medal has an inscription around the top edge that reads "VICTORIA LIBERTATIS VINDEX". There is additional text at the bottom of the medal. The medal has a dark brown patina and appears to be made of bronze. The background behind the medal is a gradient from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
