The medallion created by Henri Emile Allouard is bronze-colored and circular. The front side features a standing woman with long hair wearing a dress, holding items in both hands, surrounded by inscriptions in French that arc around the top half. The woman has one foot on an object. The bottom half depicts rocks or a pile with radiating lines emanating from behind the woman. The back side features three figures. A seated figure in the center holds a flag. The figure on the right stands with wings and hair blowing, holding a pot. The figure on the left stands behind the central figure. Inscriptions in French arc around the top. The background of both sides of the medallion fades to gray.
