Bifolium from an Antiphonary: Music

Primo Miniatore di San Domenico

Cleveland Museum of Art

Two-page spread from a medieval manuscript. The pages are off-white with visible signs of aging, including darker spots and creases. The pages are filled with music notation, consisting of five-line staves with red ink. The staves contain black square notes and various other black musical symbols. The text is written in black ink in an old-fashioned calligraphic font. Some letters are larger and more decorative, colored red and blue, and outlined in red. The text is in Latin. The pages have a worn, yellowed appearance and are slightly curved. The edges of the pages are rough and uneven. The background behind the pages is dark gray.
