Leaf from a Latin Bible: Initial A and Initial A: Judith Beheading Holofernes
The image shows an open page from a Latin Bible. The page is yellowed with age and has a black border around it. The left side of the page features a large blue and gold decorative initial "A" at the top, and a blue and gold filigree design that extends down the page. Below the design is a small rectangular illustration depicting a scene: a woman in a brown dress and a man in a white shirt and brown tunic; the woman holds a sword and the man's head is severed. The right side of the page contains two columns of black text written in Latin. The text is in an old-fashioned calligraphic style, and there are red marks and notations throughout. The overall appearance suggests that this is a medieval manuscript.
