The sampler is rectangular, pink with a dark brown border. The pink area contains various stitched designs, including flowers, leaves, birds and a basket. The designs are stitched in shades of blue, orange and brown. The stitching around the edges of the pink area resembles a zig-zag or scalloped border in orange and brown. Inside the pink area at the top, the words "magdalena denlinger" are stitched. Underneath, the stitched text reads, "in the year 1835." The entire image is presented on a gray background.
