Hauberk of Mail

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a black and white photograph of a short-sleeved, chainmail shirt, titled "Hauberk of Mail". The shirt is made of small, interlocking metal rings and has a V-shaped opening at the top. The sleeves are short and roughly horizontal. The bottom of the shirt tapers to a point. The shirt appears to be missing a portion of its lower center. There are two small holes on either side of the center of the shirt. The background of the image is gray.
