Morion-Cabasset

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Silver-colored conical helmet, titled "Morion-Cabasset", by an unknown artist. The helmet has a pointed top and a wide, curved brim that is slightly upturned at the edges. The helmet is decorated with intricate engravings and etchings, featuring various patterns including lines, swirls, and geometric shapes. Three small gold rivets are visible on the front of the helmet, one on either side of the visor and one in the center. The interior of the helmet is lined with a tan-colored material, possibly leather or fabric. The helmet is mounted on a white stand, set against a gray background that gradually darkens towards the top.
