The Covered Jar (Hu) features a brown ceramic body with a rounded base and a narrow neck, which flares out at the top. The jar has a domed lid. The body and lid are decorated with swirling patterns in shades of red, white, and black. The patterns feature curved lines and shapes. Two small handles are on either side of the body. The background of the image is dark gray, with a light source coming from the left side, casting a shadow to the left of the jar.
