The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a small, rounded ceramic jar with a wide mouth and a narrow foot. The jar is predominantly light-brown with a cracked glaze that reveals darker brown and black undertones. The body of the jar is bulbous, curving inwards to form a short neck and wide mouth. The base of the jar is flat and slightly raised. The background is a gradient from dark grey at the top to light grey at the bottom, with a shadow cast by the jar on the right side. The title of the piece is "Small Jar (Kotsubo)". This is a piece by Bernard Leach.
