Underskirt

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Cream-colored underskirt by Paquin. The skirt is made of lightweight fabric, possibly linen or cotton, with a smooth waistband and pleats at the front. A horizontal band of three horizontal stripes is present just above the bottom third of the skirt. The bottom third features intricate lace trim with a floral pattern. The skirt falls just below the knee and is displayed on a mannequin against a black background.
