Earrings

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The earrings by an unknown artist are silver-colored with a circular hoop at the top. The hoops are connected to a metal piece with a red and black design. Below this piece, there are two main sections that are symmetrical. Each section has a round, dark red stone surrounded by a metal frame and four small metal arms extending from it. Connected to the metal arms is a square frame with a dark red stone in the center. From the square frame, several small chains and tassels hang down. The tassels are shaped like teardrops and cylinders. The background of the image is white.
