Earrings

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Earrings by Artist Unknown. The earrings are made of bronze or brass, featuring a curved thin metal arch. Each earring has a central floral-shaped section comprising three teardrop shapes on either side of a central sphere. A textured semicircle consisting of two rows of clusters of small metal beads hangs beneath the central section. At the bottom of each earring is a circular metal disc with a hole in the center. A purple thread ties the top of each arch. A tag is attached to the top. The background appears to be a white fabric surface.
