Underneath the banner is a bust of a man on a pedestal. On either side of the bust are ornate designs with crowns on top. The outer edge of the medal has an inscription that reads "CAROLAE ET CAROLOPHIL" on the right side and "VERA RELANCTVRA PROVE CON VIC" on the left side, with additional text at the bottom.
