Printed Book of Hours (Use of Rome): fol. 36r, Annunciation to the Shepherds
Medieval-style illustration of the Annunciation to the Shepherds. The scene depicts three shepherds outdoors with an angel hovering above, surrounded by a gold frame with tassels. The angel has wings and a banner. The shepherds wear medieval clothing, with one in blue, one in orange and blue, and one in grey and brown. There are three white sheep next to the shepherds. In the background, there is a blue sky with sun rays, green grass, trees, and buildings. Under the illustration, there is a decorative rectangle with Latin text in black and red ink. A smaller, circular blue, gold and red design is to the left of the text. The image background resembles aged paper.
