The top girl lies on her back with her eyes closed and her head tilted back. She wears a long dress. The bottom girl lies on her side with her head resting on the other girl's dress. Her left arm is bent at the elbow, with her hand near her chest. The girls' hair is depicted as short and curly. The sculpture is titled "The Babes in the Wood" and is by Thomas Crawford. An inscription is on the front left side of the base of the sculpture. The background is a solid gray color.
